Definition of Inconsideration !! July 30, 2006
Posted by basamigi in Daily Stuff.add a comment
I was sitting in my office this morning with my colleague “working” ..
when we started hearing some continuous honking..
it continued around 10 minutes .. that’s when I got curious and looked out the window..
there was this guy in his black land cruiser totally blocked by an inconsiderate “someone”..
the poor guy had his window down and kept honking to no avail..
he was there for an additional 15 minutes .. and that was around noon so you could imagine the heat !!!
Anyway.. we went to a meeting and luckily when we came back he was gone..
I wonder if a fight happened !!
Oh here they are !! July 12, 2006

One Flaw in Women.. July 10, 2006

I received this email today from a dear friend of mine.. I loved it..
One Flaw In Women
Women have strengths that amaze men.
They bear hardships and they carry burdens,
but they hold happiness, love and joy.
They smile when they want to scream.
They sing when they want to cry.
They cry when they are happy
and laugh when they are nervous.
They fight for what they believe in.
They stand up to injustice.
They don't take "no" for an answer
when they believe there is a better solution.
They go without so their family can have.
They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.
They love unconditionally.
They cry when their children excel
and cheer when their friends get awards.
They are happy when they hear about
a birth or a wedding.
Their hearts break when a friend dies.
They grieve at the loss of a family member,
yet they are strong when they
think there is no strength left.
They know that a hug and a kiss
can heal a broken heart.
Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors.
They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you
to show how much they care about you.
The heart of a woman is what
makes the world keep turning.
They bring joy, hope and love.
They have compassion and ideas.
They give moral support to their
family and friends.
Women have vital things to say
and everything to give.
HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE FLAW IN WOMEN,
IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH.
Reality check.. July 9, 2006

we live life in the fast lane..
we lose track of what’s important..
we get carried away and blinded by materialistic things..
we measure our lives with what we own rather than what we’ve achieved..
we lose focus of the reason why we’re here.. and forget our purpose..
I remind myself.. I awaken my senses.. but soon again..
forget…
on the way back from work.. 2 in the afternoon .. in the July heat…
too quiet.. despite the loud sound of the airconditioner ..
I give myself a wakeup call..
a reality check..
and I listen to this

Sirens.. what sirens ? July 7, 2006

Today during lizwarah (family gathering) the civil defence sirens sounded at around 3:45 p.m. We ignored it, but the funny thing is that my grandmother was convinced that there must be something wrong !
I told her,, beleive me .. if something REALLY happens, the sirens WILL NOT SOUND ! lol
Anyhow, it was on tv that they sounded off by mistake ! I wonder how that is possible ….
I’m posting from a Mac PowerBook G4 12″ beauty ! I love it…

I Cast My Vote :) June 29, 2006
Posted by basamigi in Daily Stuff.1 comment so far
When I got there, it was already 8:30 a.m. The street was jammed and we were not allowed to park in the school’s parking lot. I had to park somewhere, and so with my son (a three year old who wouldn’t let me go out without him !!) walked towards the entrance. Dozens of girls (ages ranging 10-30 yrs old) dressed in candidates’ t-shirts rushed with flowers and flyers..
Unfortunately, the girls of Jamal Al-Omar were a majority. When they had the nerve to come to me and say “لاتنسين ولدنا جمال العمر” or something like “هالله هالله بجمال” , I would laugh directly in their faces !!
تعوذت من ابليس وقلت يابنت الحلال لاتردين عليهم لا تطلعلج وحده ملسونه.. ما يسوى عليج
So I went in.. and was liking the whole thing because it’s history for me and all Kuwaiti women..
The line was loooong , very unorganized, we basically had to know who’s the lady infront of us in line , and stick with her. And I happened to sit between two very nice ladies, one of them actually organized the whole thing for the organizers! (mashkoorah:) )
I waited for 1:45 hrs to go in and cast my vote. I ticked the names of my candidates and prayed as I folded the paper and put it in the box that both would win, crushing the infamous false “beauty” .
Overall, it was a great moment to participate in this country’s democracy. It will inshalla be a greater moment tomorrow when the voice of justice raises above all others.
Regardless what happens.. Kuwait and its youth, the young rising generation, will continue to fight corruption and create a better future for our children and grandchildren.
الله يحفظ الــــــكــــــويــــــت وأهلـــهــــا
(P.S: if you see a cute boy in Al-Anba’a newspaper tomorrow wearing a blue polo t-shirt and white shorts…. that’s my Gooba !!) lol
